Become an Electronic & Electrical Engineering student for the day

Information and benefits of attending this event: During this event you'll work be working in specialist laboratory facilities, undertaking practical work in power generation. You’ll be working with academic staff and some of our current students, using equipment and facilities not usually available in schools and colleges.

Learn:
- how solar cells generate electrical power
- how the power is transformed and transmitted
- how it can then be used to do some useful work, for example driving an electric motor

You will also have the opportunity to visit our semiconductor cleanroom, where we can manufacture our own devices.

Following this there will be a chance for you to find out more about being a student at the University of Sheffield in a Q&A session with some of our current undergraduate students. A member of our admissions team will also be on hand to answer any queries you might have about studying at university.
