Be a Maths student for the day

Date: 21-Feb-2020

Location: University of Sheffield campus

Time: 9.45am-3.15pm

Target year group: Y12 and Y13

Information and benefits of attending this event: Our taster days have been designed to give A Level mathematicians the chance to experience what it's like to study mathematics and statistics at university.

We'll introduce you to areas of mathematics you might not have explored before, tell you about some of the most interesting puzzles you can use mathematics to solve, and maybe get you thinking about mathematics in a completely different way.

The day will include talks by our lecturers, who can give you useful mathematics tips and advice on applying for your degree. You'll also be able to learn more about studying at the University of Sheffield and explore our campus.

How to book a place: Complete the form on the event webpage to apply for a place. We would encourage you to mention RO in your statement at the end of the application form.

Any steps required to confirm your attendance with the university running the event: If you would like your attendance recognised on your RO record, please email rosheffield@sheffield.ac.uk.

It may be possible to have reasonable travelling expenses reimbursed to attend an RO event/activity. You should check in advance with the university delivering the event to see if this is possible by contacting rosheffield@sheffield.ac.uk to find out what you need to do.
