Information:Our second week focuses on Medicine and is for students considering a career as a doctor. Sessions are scheduled to include: Introduction to Medicine (GP, Psychiatry and Acute), Introduction to Allied Health careers (including Physiotherapy, Nursing, Midwifery and Operating Department Practice), Medical taster sessions covering cardiovascular, respiratory and neuromuscular, Applying to medical school and preparing a personal statement, Preparing for UCAT
Preparing for interview (MMI focus), Workshop on resilience, good mental health and empathy.*

You will get the real experience of living and studying at the University of Leicester, including three nights in our student accommodation. You will get the opportunity to not only engage in academic sessions but also social activities to give you a real taste of university life.

Our summer schools are entirely free to attend, which includes accommodation, food and transport.

At present, our post-16 summer schools in July 2020 are still scheduled to go ahead as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully, and comply with government advice and University of Leicester guidance in all scenarios. It may be possible to have reasonable travelling expenses reimbursed to attend an RO event/activity. You should check in advance with the university delivering the event to see if this is possible by contacting rop@le.ac.uk to find out what you need to do.
