Year 12 Medicine Summer School

Information: At Leicester we are Citizens of Change. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we are changing the way we work in a huge number of ways which includes moving all of our Summer Schools online for 2020, and therefore are delighted to introduce our first ever programme of post-16 Digital Summer Schools.Our second week focuses on Medicine and is for students considering a career as a doctor. Sessions are scheduled to include:

  • Introduction to Medicine (GP, Psychiatry and Acute)
  • Introduction to Allied Health careers (including Physiotherapy, Nursing, Midwifery and Operating Department Practice)
  • Medical taster sessions covering cardiovascular, respiratory and neuromuscular
  • Applying to medical school and preparing a personal statement
  • Preparing for UCAT
  • Preparing for interview (MMI focus)
  • Workshop on resilience, good mental health and empathy
