Philosophy Taster Session: What is Art?

Date: 30-Jun-2020

Time: 10.45am - 12.45pm

Target year group: Y12

Information: Ever wondered what philosophy is, and what it would be like to study it at university? Let us introduce you to this fascinating subject, and tell you what a degree in Philosophy can offer you. After a welcome and introduction to the department by one of our admissions tutors, Dr Komarine Romdenh-Romluc will then give you a talk on the subject ‘What is art?’ Like most philosophical questions, it will get you to think again about what you believe, and consider the world in new ways. It will also give you a taste of what it is like to be taught philosophy. Komarine will then take your questions (and objections - philosophy is all about debate!), followed by a Q&A session with our admissions staff and with two current undergraduate students - so you can ask them what life is like for them at Sheffield. Hope to see you there!
