DESCRIPTION:Location: Residential on UCL Bloomsbury Campus \nEvent Information: *Deadline: midday on Thursday 7 March 2024*. \nAt the UCL Institute of Archaeology Summer School\, A Taste(r) of the Past\, you will explore how science\, art and the humanities collide in helping us research\, investigate & trial how our ancestors lived\, and specifically what they ate\, in the past. The course will include practical study in the classroom\, investigating the Archaeobotanical (the study of ancient plant remains within the field of archaeology) collection in the Institute of Archaeology lab as well as experimental archaeology sessions focusing on just how our ancestors processed their food\, giving us a glimpse into the diets of the past. We will also be focusing on what this tells us about movement and migration of people & cultures\, specifically in London. DESCRIPTION:University hosting: University of Exeter \nLocation: Online \nEvent Information: The UCAS Preparation Day is an event that we put on specifically for Exeter Scholars participants to provide you with information\, guidance\, and advice about the UCAS application process\, student finance\, personal statements\, and to give you the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed\, bespoke responses from staff and student ambassadors. The event will be run online via Zoom\, and will comprise two separate sessions: \n\n11:00 – 13:00 The Process of Applying to University\, followed by subject breakout groups (with current student ambassadors)\n13:30 – 15:30 Personal Statements\, followed by Student Life at Exeter/Penryn – Live panel discussion with current student ambassadors and Q&A\n\nWe are running these as two separate events with a break in between – you can come to just one or both\, depending on which topic you would like to find out more about\, your availability\, or anything else. However\, please note that each session alone will be worth half an attendance credit; for a full attendance credit\, you should attend both sessions either on the same day or on separately dates. \nTo register for a place on the day\, please complete the registration form. Please complete and submit this form by no later than Friday 23rd August 2024 if you are looking to attend the August date. There is no limit on the number of places. We will send an email with the relevant Zoom information to those who have registered to attend on Monday 26th August. We will be recording the event and making it available online for anyone to re-watch or catch-up.
