AI in Medicine – University of Leeds

University hosting: University of Leeds

Location: University of Leeds campus, Woodhouse Lane Leeds

Event Information: AI and machine learning are hot topics in contemporary society and AI applications are fast becoming commonplace within our digital services and IT systems. We look to AI to simplify and speed up processes, and to provide succinct answers drawn from very large data sets. AI seems so powerful and useful, it is almost like a magic knowledge machine. But how does it work? How are answers drawn from data and how can machines understand the human world? How well do they do it, and are they as powerful and perfect as they seem? This hands-on session – designed for everyone without any need for IT knowledge – will allow you to experience how subjects – in this case themselves – get classified by machines, and how this process might introduce problems and imperfections, as well as exciting potential.

This event is suitable for: Year 12
