Frequently asked questions

Can I apply to Realising Opportunities?

Applications for students entering Year 12/first year of college have now closed. Applications will reopen in September 2024 for students in Year 12 in September 2024.

How can my school / college participate in Realising Opportunities?

If your school or college is not currently working with a Realising Opportunities (RO) university on the programme, and you think other students would benefit, you can speak to a teacher (usually a head of year or a careers adviser). Ask them to contact any of the RO universities they are interested in working with to see if they have capacity to take on a new school and point them to our information for teachers.

I’m in Year 13, can I participate in Realising Opportunities?

Realising Opportunities (RO) is a two-year programme, which means that students need to be in year 12 or the first year of college to apply.

We realise that this will be disappointing news, however we would recommend contacting any of the RO universities you are interested in applying to directly, to enquire about alternative support or activities you may be eligible for. View the list of Partner University contacts.
