Geology Virtual Talk: Around the World in 80 Rocks: Travels with a Geologist

University hosting: University of Leicester

Event Information: In this taster lecture, Professor Gawen Jenkin will show you some of the amazing geology he has seen in fieldwork across the globe – from a gold mine in Peru, via snowball Earth stromatolites in Ethiopia, to boiling hot springs on a volcano in the Solomon Islands. He will show how understanding these events of the distant past has direct implications for people today.
