Event Information: During World War Two, over 2.5 million troops recruited in the Indian sub-continent served as part of the allied forces. They comprised the largest volunteer army in history. Over 87,000 lost their lives and nearly 70,000 were held as prisoners of war. This talk will explore their contributions to a war that at least some Indian Nationalist leaders opposed.
