Top Revision Tips
Hi everyone, as it’s nearing exam season in college I thought I’d share some top tips!
This can be a stressful period, however it’s important to space out revision and get the most out of your study sessions. I remember that some of these tips made a huge difference to my revision and starting to perfect these skills can be useful in the long run!
Active recall is your best friend 📚 – it can show you how much you already know and what the gaps in your knowledge are. This helps more than passively reading will so try blurting out what you remember on a page and then going through what you missed.
Come back to it in a few days’ time and check whether you can remember what you missed out previously. You also get the satisfaction when you have picked up a new fact 😊
Start past papers early as you can get used to what examiners are looking for and you can get an idea of what your paper will look like. Pay particular attention to your weak areas in revision – even though it may be difficult, focusing on these can help boost those marks.
Finally make sure you take breaks and have something to look forward to- it can be motivating and revision with friends can also take the stress away!
Let me know if you have any specific questions and I’ll be happy to help.
Varsika😊
