Year 12 Residential Summer School – North West Medical
Location: Lancaster University campus
Event information: Our Medicine Summer School is a collaboration between Lancaster Medical School, University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University funded by the Medical Schools Council (MSC) and Health Education England (HEE).
The Summer School aims to provide you with a full insight into life studying medicine, balancing skills development and experience of undergraduate level study with social and leisure activities giving you a chance to experience life with three different UK medical schools.
During the Summer School, you will have the opportunity to try problem-based learning (PBL), a form of small group teaching used in many UK medical schools, alongside team and case-based learning. You will gain an understanding of the breadth of knowledge learned during a medical degree. You’ll explore a medically-relevant scenario and research topics related to this scenario, with the opportunity to feedback to your peers what you have learned. You’ll also participate in clinical skills and clinical anatomy teaching sessions to observe the variety of learning environments at three different medical schools.
