Event Information: This in person event is open for interest to any prospective student of Black heritage working with us on one of our widening access programmes. The event will be a fantastic opportunity for you to visit York ahead of the UCAS application deadline, meet or reconnect other programme participants and speak to our Black Access Student Team in a fun and relaxed environment. The day will have a particular focus on practicing the career and transferable skills you will develop whilst a university student alongside providing you with the opportunity to find out more about how to link your undergraduate study to great employability outcomes when you graduate.

This event is suitable for: Year 13

How to book a place: We are hoping to welcome as many of you as we can to the event but please be advised that, if it is necessary for us to manage attendee numbers, we will primarily consider two factors:
– The first is that we intend to show preference to those individuals who have not been able to attend any on campus events up to this point.
– The second is that we will consider your travel time to reach York and we will favour those students who can make the journey from their mainline train station in under 3 hours.

All participants traveling by train will need to arrive by no later than 9.45am and will not leave York for their return rail journeys until after 5.00pm. Those traveling by car will also need to arrive at campus at 9.45am and will be able to leave after 4.00pm.

Please therefore consider whether you are able and willing to commit to what might be a long day before you confirm that you want to be considered for a place on the event. We would also strongly advise you to discuss your transport plans with your parent/carer/guardians before completing this form.

You have until 9.00am on Monday 1 September 2025 to complete the form in order to be considered for a place. Your nominated parent/carer/guardian has until 9am on Wednesday 3 September 2025 to provide their consent for you to attend. Late submissions in all cases will not be permitted.

We will then be in touch with everyone to discuss the outcome and next steps during week commencing 1 September.
