University of Birmingham

Why Birmingham?

The University of Birmingham was an official Partner of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, building on the university’s track record in sports science research. The vibrant campus welcomed athletes and spectators to the Games which took place in world-class sporting facilities, and provided volunteering opportunities for staff and students who wanted to gain valuable work experience working at a major sporting event. There were twelve current students and alumni from the University of Birmingham who won medals during the games!
