Applying to university

When applying to university, you will use an online service called UCAS where you will find all the relevant and up to date information you will need for the application process.

  • It’s a good idea to note down all important dates and deadlines so that you have plenty of time to complete each stage of the application process! Click here for key dates.

Personal Statements

Writing your personal statement is an important part of the university application process. It is your chance to demonstrate to the admissions team that you have a genuine interest in your chosen subject, and that you have the motivation to succeed at university, within your chosen field.

Preparing for interviews and tests

Some courses such as Medicine, Dentistry and Law include interviews as a part of the application process. A university interview may be formal or informal, and the aim is to give the department a chance to learn more about you as a person, your abilities and experience, and your reason for pursuing your chosen course.

Confirming your place

Once you have sent your application to your chosen universities through UCAS, attended any admissions tests or interviews and received responses to your applications it’s time to choose your firm and insurance offer! Here’s everything you need to know about making your decision:
