The Lungs of the Earth: An Introduction into Amazonian Deforestation – University of Leeds

Event Information: This workshop will give you an introduction into the Amazon rainforest and the impacts of deforestation. The aim of this session is to develop your understanding of the complexity of the Amazon and the current global threat of misuse of the rainforest. Through interactive tasks you will journey through the Amazon to undertake a mission in sustainable development. Faced with conflicting options you will expand your understanding of the real-world threat to the rainforest through debate. By the end of this session you will have a deeper understanding of Amazonian deforestation and be able to offer meaningful solutions to improve sustainable practices for the future.
