AI in Medicine
Location: University of Leeds, Leeds, LS2 9JT
Event Information: Google, Netflix, Amazon, etc. are examples of how we all engage with AI on a regular basis. Many claim AI will change the face of healthcare by reducing doctor’s workloads, driving personalized medicine and prompting new discoveries. We will give a brief introduction into how AI algorithms work and how they could be introduced into healthcare. We will discuss the benefits and risks, including how AI’s decisions can be biased and whether we should trust them. We will then move on to a group task exploring how AI can be used to solve a real-world medical problem.
