Virtual NSC: Choosing a My RIU Experience session
Based on some of the queries received before the last virtual National Student Conference (NSC), the Realising Opportunities (RO) Central Team have put together this post. This post is here to help you select which ‘My RIU Experience’ session would be best for you. At first glance it may seem as though the options available are not directly related to the subject choice that you have in mind, but by following the table below you will see which subjects relate to each of the subject streams.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: Which My RIU Experience session should I attend?
Answer: You can pick the session that you’re most interested in. You only need to attend one session – but you can attend two (one from each timeslot) if you’d like.
Question: Which session is most relevant to me?
Answer: We’d recommend choosing the session based on the sort of subject you hope to study when you get to university. As it’s possible to study so many different subjects at university, the sessions are based on four broad subject streams:
1a. Life and Health Sciences
1b. Creative Arts and Humanities
2a. Engineering and Physical Sciences
2b. Social Sciences
You can use the table below to help you see which session might be right for you:

Do not worry about the session you select as whichever session you attend as you will discover how research that takes place at research intensive universities can benefit students. If you’re still feeling unsure on which session to attend, please feel free to contact your RO Ambassador, Lipika, an email to discuss the best option for you.
The NSC is a great opportunity to learn more about the types of research taking place at the RO Partner unis, find out more about careers from well-known employer organisations, and more!
